Original publisher's multicolored paper wrappers with a color illustration on the front cover by Lawrence of nude and scantily clad men and women who sprout forth from a giant human fetus. Illustration accompanies one of this issue's stories, "Rebirth." White spine with black lettering. 6 1/2" x 9 1/4." 114 pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations by Lawrence and Virgil Finlay, complete. Advertisements are interspersed throughout. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Pages are fragile and age-toned. Some chipping at the edges and spine. Chip at the head of spine measures about 1/4" x 2 1/4." Covers are cut along the edges but this may be original. A Very Good Copy. Famous Fantastic Mysteries was a science fiction and fantasy pulp magazine edited by Mary Gnaedinger. The first issue appeared in 1939. Its popularity quickly led to the publication of a companion magazine, Fantastic Novels. The last issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries was published in 1953. The October 1951 issue. The following are the features in this issue: a feature-length classic, "Rebirth," by Thomas Calvert McClary; a novelette, "Monsieur Seeks a Wife," by Margaret Irwin; two short stories, "Nobody's House" by A. M. Burrage and "The Man Who Collected Poe" by Robert Bloch; "The Readers' Viewpoint"; "In the Next Issue"; and "Golden Atlantis" by Richard Butler Glaenzer [a poem]..
