185 pages (complete). A neat copy. By 1953 the main Afrikaner churches of the Dutch Reformed Churches were intent on providing theological and Christian support for the policy of apartheid. The conference was called for November 1953. Here, despite the inclusion of liberal, equality-progressive speakers from other churches, the Conference set a line that the Dutch Reformed churches did not cross for several decades. As is noted in the 'Routledge Religions of South Africa' this conference ensured that "the Dutch Reformed Church had not only produced an apartheid theology, but had in effect rewritten the Bible as an apartheid Bible." [see the Rev Brink's paper from the conference]. This copy is earnest in nature and aspect. The banal dustjacket has wear, marks and scuffing from storage and handling. It is secure. The green boards are healthy and tight. Within, the contents are in excellent condition. They are clean, clear, very confident, very certain, most diligent.
