Publisher's original,sharp-cornered, sage green cloth boards with bright,crisp, blocked and non-oxidised gilt letters to front and spine/ backstrip; with negligible shelf-wear or creasing to edges and corners - no major nicks or tears present.Head of spine/backstrip with some slight fraying,foot of same with some minor,tiny splits and both boards with some white speckling/flecking - majority to rear board.Front pastedown with sporadic foxing and with a b/w illustrated amorial+Latin motto [Cadenti Porrigo Dextram - 'I extend my right hand to one who is falling'] bookplate pasted to it; the front free endpaper with concomitant, offset foxing from pastedown,rear pastedown and free endpaper similarly affected with concomitant,off-set foxing.Top edges gilt (teg), fore-edges slightly toned and untrimmed; contents generally bright and clean with some minimal foxing/spotting interspesed throughout the text and the book,otherwise bright,tight, clean,solid and sound - no intentional dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners,therefore appears unread - apart from my own collation.UK, 8vo HB,1st edn,viii-xivpp+2-399pp [paginated] includes author's preface,contents list/table,9 sections covering earlier and earliest family hstory in Normandy and England,Wales,Scotland, Ireland,West Indies,Australia,Japan,Holland and the US, appendices (A+B),an Addenda et Corrigenda; plus [unpaginated] author's contemporary b/w portrait photographic frntis with a foxed tissue guard,title page also with concomitant foxing,and a dedication.
