Stewart Edward White, Oct. 24, 1935." White (1873-1946) was an American writer, novelist and spiritualist. His books were popular when America was losing its vanishing wilderness. This coy is about Alexander Baranov (1746-1819) who ran away from home at age 15 and became a successful merchant in Siberia, then a successful fur trader and managed trading posts in Kodiak. Inside of both covers are slightly dampstained. Copy has a color illustrated dust jacket of men and women and a ship on the front cover. Dust jacket has slight chipping on the front corner.
