He attended Harvard, and then became a member of its faculty in 1915. He was a member of the American Academy for Jewish Research, the Mediaeval Academy of America, the American Oriental Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. A scholar of Spinoza and Crescas, Wolfson particularly focused on heir relation to earlier philosophers, such as Aristotle, Plato, and the Islamic philosopher Averroes.
