Pages are clean and intact overall except for a few wrinkles, slight rippling, occasional offsetting, light to moderate foxing and staining throughout (text still readable), and minuscule chipping along spine (text is unaffected). A Very Good copy. A Christian tract containing a description of what true repentance is and why it is necessary. The general idea in this tract is that true repentance of sins entails a true change of heart and mind. Tract No. 252 of the American Tract Society. The American Tract Society (ATS) is an evangelical organization that was founded in 1825 as the result of a merger between the New York Religious Tract Society (founded in 1812) and the New England Religious Tract Society (founded in 1814). New Box Style (Go; Board Game)

Original Go board game in a green paper-covered box. This set includes a yellow painted board with black and white game pieces, or stones. Folds open with metal hinges and closes with a metal clasp. Box interior can hold stones, which are in two smaller boxes matching the design of the larger game box. "Made in Japan" printed on inside of board and on box. No date, circa 1950s. Box measures 4 1/2" x 9 1/4." Board measures 4" x 8 3/4" closed, 8" x 8 3/4" opened. Stones come loose; some may be missing. No instructions included. Board, boxes holding stones, and game pieces are virtually pristine and intact. Larger game box is very clean and intact but has slight age toning and darkening, a few tiny stains or marks on top, and slight wear to extremities. A Near Fine copy. Go (also, Weiqi or Weichi) is a strategy board game that originated in China about 2500 years ago. It is believed to be the oldest game that has been played continuously since its inception and is still played to this day. Players take turns by placing their pieces called stones on the game board. The stones traditionally come in black and white. The objective is to cover more territory than the opponent. Stones are captured when they are surrounded on all orthogonally adjacent points by the opponent's stones. The game continues until either player decides they are finished moving their stones.. Circa 1944. Original publicity photograph of Marlene Dietrich and Irving Berlin taken at the Fifty Army Camp in Italy in May, 1944. Dietrich (1901-1992) was a German-American actress and singer. Irving Berlin (1888-1989) was a Russian born composer and lyricist. He was widely considered one of the greatest songwriters in American history. Both Dietrich and Berlin toured with the USO during W.W.II. This black and white photograph was taken May, 1944 during a USO tour. Photograph shows Dietrich and Berlin sitting looking at dollar bills. Photograph has slight creases, however overall photograph is in very good condition.. Book. Circa 1904. Original black and white publicity photograph. 3 1/4 X 5 1/4 inches. Olga (O.L.) Knipper-Chekhova (1868-1959) was a Russian Empire and Soviet stage actress. In 1901 she married Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) who was a Russian dramatist and short story writer. In 1904 Olga played the part of Madame Raneuskaya in Chechov's "The Cherry Orchard". She would continue to play this part throughout her long career. In this publicity photograph, which has captions printed in French below the photograph, identifies Ms. Knipper and references her appearance as Ranevskaya ("Ranievskaia" on the photograph) in "The Cherry Orchard" ("Le Jardin des Cerises") as presented by the Moscow Art Theater. In this photograph Olga (approx 32 years of age) is sitting wearing a ruffled dress with a brooch. Two small holes are on the bottom of the photograph, (image and text is not affected). Al Pearce (1898-1961) was a popular American radio personality from the late 1920's to the late 1940's. He also appeared in movies and television. His radio program stated out as "The happy Go Lucky Hour" on KFRC in San Francisco in 1929 and later became "Al Pearce and His Gang" when it went to the national radio networks. In addition to Pearce, radio program cast member signing the photograph are: Norman Neilson, Charlie Carter and Pedro Gonzales. Merle Alcock (1884 or 1890-1975) was an American contralto singer who performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, and Philadelphia Symphony. In 1915, Alcock appeared with the New York Symphony Orchestra where she became known as a contralto. She gained much recognition and performed at the New York Metropolitan Opera for several years.
