Shows a large group of miners gathered in the center, a man sitting on sacks of something in the front,two men in snow at the right hand side and a mining site and trees in the background. The men part of the photograph has very good clarity, the mining site less so (perhaps the photograph was taken when it was snowing). Numbered 12731 by the publisher. 3 12/ x 7 inches. Image of the Mineral Springs Pavilion built in 1865 by Olmsted & Vaux in a Moorish style on the Northwest Edge of Sheep Meadow. This popular attraction was torn down in 1953 by Robert Moses. Shows several visitors in front of the structure with fresh landscaping and the American flag waving in the wind on the top flagpole. Fine clean copy with no marks.. Book.
