Original Stereograph (7 x 3 1/2 inch) on pink board with rounded corners. Image of a church at the base of a hill overlooking the harbor. Queenstown was the name given to Cobh, Ireland after a visit by Queen Victoria in 1849 between the years 1849 and 1922. The port in Cork Harbor was the southern Irish center of the Irish diaspora with some 2 and half million leaving from the port between 1848 and 1950. It served as a major transatlantic port and last port of call from the British Isles and embarkation port for the British penal colonies such as Australia. It was the last port of call for the Titanic and where the survivors for the Lusitania were brought after its sinking, some 100 are buried in the town's graveyards. Clean copy with no marks.. Book.
