Campbell, Roy
The Georgiad (A Charlotade)

Imprint: Boriswood Limited, London, 1931
Edition: First Edition.
Binding: Hardback , With Dust Jacket

64 pages (complete). A satisfying copy. A most interesting publication. Boriswood was a small, independent publisher. Campbell was the first poet to have been published by them and among the very first titles they published in 1931. Of note is the advertisement on the back face of the dustjacket, for James Hanley's 'Boy'. This title eventually destroyed the company. They were prosecuted and fined so heavily the company was forced to close. Also, this title is one of the most controversial of Campbell's for it's spite and vindictiveness of tone. The dustjacket is much worn, torn and marked. It is patient. The boards have storage tanning about the edges. The boards are sound. Within, the front pages have some light annotation. Otherwise, the pages are clean, clear, fresh, youthful and elegant. fk. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Poor
