UK,8vo HB,no dw/dj,a new edn,so a 1st edn thus.[Originally and first published Nov., 1930,new impressions in Dec.,1930 and Oct.,1931,a cheaper re-issue in Sept.,1932 and this New Edition,Sept.,1932.] VG.No owner inscrptn.Bright,but crisp and lightly grubbed,publisher's original sharp-cornered,pale orange cloth boards with black ink blocked lettering to a slightly and lightly darkened spine/ backstrip which also has a few blemishes to same; with negligible shelf-wear, bumping,creasing to edges and corners – no nicks,tears or splits present,clean plain white sets of endpapers with no cracking to either hinge.Top edges darkened with minimal sporadic blemishes,fore-edges aged/toned to a much lesser degree but with sporadic foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight,clean,solid and sound – text body clean,no dog-ear reading creases to any pages’ corners – appears unread,apart from my own collation.UK,8vo HB,no dw/dj, 1st edn thus as a new edn,vii-xviipp+19- 222pp [paginated] includes an introduction,separate contents+illus lists /tables,and XVII (17) chapters; plus [unpaginated] half-title,b/w ornithological photographic frntis,and title page.
Visually the exterior appearance is acceptable for a book of it's age, and even internally,the book is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation.It is only the faults described that prevent a higher grading.
